Wedding at our house in 4 days! (includes doll photos)

Our oldest son is getting married on Friday at a ceremony taking place at our house. [img]graemlins/rose.gif[/img] I've been putting in 15 hour days getting everything ready. Fortunately the reception will be at a restaurant but it's amazing how much prep there is for a home wedding! [img]eek.gif[/img] I'm making the wedding cake and I'm the florist too so I've been super busy.

My future daughter-in-law was wondering if one of her dolls could or should "attend" the wedding. She has AGT 22 (her look-alike) and Addy. We're not sure what guests would think if there was a doll sitting in the corner of the room but we're tossing around ideas. As providence would have it, males will outnumber the females at the wedding by 2 to 1 and the youngest girl present (21) is the bride. So having a doll in the room might not work. But she thinks it would be really fun if the doll were incognito somehow, known only to her. Any ideas?

Someone else posted an album with a doll at a wedding and it was so cute. I'd love the link to that album again so we can see how you did it.

My feeling on this is-- It's her wedding.
If she wants the doll there it doesn't matter what the guests think. A doll might be nice near some of the flowers. How nice that you will have another collector in your family. [img]smile.gif[/img]

I had a bride and groom teddy bear sitting at our gift table. They were right beside the wishing well for envelopes. Everyone loved them and thought they were adorable.

Go for it and have the doll. You could even purchase a wedding dress from ebay for it.

You know Nikki (allamericangirl221) once told me about wedding dolls, dolls dressed up in wedding attire that stood by the cake or wherever. I believe she used her Samantha as her wedding doll. Maybe she'll come online and talk about it.

Oh, Julia, we know exactly how busy you've been with getting your house ready for a wedding! My aunt and uncle who live on land adjacent to our house hosted their DD's wedding this June. We all pitched in and everything went wonderful, but we were all very BUSY the week of the wedding. The Saturday before the wedding we had a "work day" and everyone was given yard work or household chores to do. My kids had so much fun!

My sister had a porcelain bride doll at her wedding that a friend of the family made. Perfhaps the bride's doll could be the honorary guest book attendant or the flower girl. I think that would be fun!

Julia, congratulations on the upcoming wedding! Is Jessica's (FarmhouseGirl's) wedding reception the one you were thinking of? The one I took my Jess to? There were dolls guarding the "cash basket."

I had a bride and groom frog set at my wedding because I loved frogs-it was in an old fashioned birdcage that we found that held all the envelopes and things [img]smile.gif[/img]
